Finally! Affordable Earth-Friendly PVC Available At CardSuppliers.com

The wait is over for merchants looking to "green up" their card programs. A new oxo-biodegradable PVC that leaves no harmful effects for the environment is now available at CardSuppliers.com. This breakthrough is even more remarkable due to the modest price point in relation to other alternative card materials that have entered the market in the past several years.

Referred to as Earth-Friendly PVC at CardSuppliers, this card material is composed of PVC and an oxo-degradable additive (a dessicant and a metal salt). After a few years of use, the material will begin a "degradation process resulting from oxidative cleavage of macromolecules followed by biodegradation." That's a fancy way of saying that it will break down naturally with exposure to oxygen and UV light. Ultimately, it will continue to fragment until the material has biodegraded to nothing more than C02, water, humus, and trade elements small enough for microbes to ingest as a food source. Earth-Friendly PVC has no harmful effects to the environment and is 100% recyclable at any time.

Past industry efforts to introduce corn-based card materials, or biodegradable substrates have not managed to capture much of the card market due to the prohibitive cost.
